What husbands don’t know…..

So today I took my car in for its 60,000km service and don’t ask me how or why but somehow I didn’t see the big yellow pole just as you drive in to the drop off point and ended up scrapping the whole side of my car against it!!!

The little man checking in the cars was as surprised as I was I think – I mean how on earth do you manage to miss a large yellow pole? Well I am here to tell you it is possible.
After surveying the damage – ugly yellow smears all across the passengers side of my car – I turned to the little man and asked him if there was anyway we could fix that without my husband having to know. And turns out we can, cause when I turned up to collect my car in the afternoon not only were the scratches all gone, but the nice man assured me that I had not been charged and there was no evidence of my mishap on the car service statement either.
Looks like a dodged a bullet there – big sigh of relief!!!

  1. Sure hope he doesn’t read your blog! I can say anything on mine. H doesn’t read it unless I print it out and shove it under his nose! LOL One time my son’s girlfriends rabbit ate the top of the buttons off the TV remote. He has never questioned why those buttons are now flat. Six years ago! HAHA Men are not very observant! ~Elle

  2. This is an amusing story. I have to say though that it was me I would probably eventually told my husband about it…at some time after there was a little distance from the event. But that was our relationship. Ultimately we kept very little from one another, although we were not necessarily forthcoming immediately.

    1. I will probably tell him, It is much easier now that the damage has been fixed. Either way I’m sure he would have been ok with it – but I felt bad for my stupidity – how could I not see the stupid pole?

  3. Rubbing Compound has saved many marriages. Why don’t they make those poles
    Out of plastic…

  4. First – very nice man at the station to do that.
Second – for all the posts about husbands not knowing; how do you know? Maybe they are ‘observant’ but magnanimous.
Third – I didn’t ‘see’ one of those on the passenger side at a gas station and dented in the door of the car.

    1. I think you are right about husbands being observant but magnanimous, my husband would have been ok I think – not thrilled, but he is lovely like that and let’s me get away with a lot. I hope you didn’t do too much damage to your car.

  5. ((((((((((((((((((((( indeed, do you think I never had an “oops” fixed before taking a car home. Why I have a small tool collection and and a DC to AC power converter for small electric tools in trunk. )))))))))))))))

  6. Intersting Nut! I thought we never keep any secrects!

Women women……is he every going to know?
Thereยดs a saying here in Spain that if I translate it to English doesnยดt rhyme as it does in Spanish but it goes roughly like this ” Woman behind the wheel constant trouble” ๐Ÿ˜‰
