A weird thing happened this morning, this couple – mid to late 50’s – pulled up on their bike outside our house and asked if they could come inside and have a look around. Apparently the lady grew up in our house back in the 70’s and her partner lived across the road a couple of houses down. We weren’t sure if we should let them in – they could very well be thieves casing the place – you just never know do you? In the end we decided that there are more good people in the world than bad, and gave them the benefit of the doubt. They were very excited and very thankful that we let them into our home and gave them a tour of the house – which really does not look anything like it would have back in the 1970’s. There is still an uneasy feeling that maybe they were not really on a nostalgic trip but rather a treasure hunt, I guess that can’t be helped it’s a sign of the times I’m afraid.
I’m with you… it’s good to remember the place of your childhood that way… but it has a little a weird taste… paws crossed that it only was a memory-thing :o)
Fingers crossed xx
Well I always go with my gut and I think that is what u did – but so true that we have to be alert and in guard too – we say trust God and also lock the doors – ha
Lol I like that 😜
Lol, we’ve done that! 🙂
Lol I would do something like that too, guess that’s why we gave them the benefit of the doubt. xx
Brings home to me how our world has changed…a few years ago it wouldn’t have crossed my mind to worry…now it would.
I know it’s sad isn’t it Helen? xx
I agree, it is sad, but that the world we now live in 😦 such a shame. Let’s hope it was purely nostalgic xx
I’m pretty sure it was, it’s just as you say the world we live in that creates that element of doubt xxx
