Age is just a number

Tomorrow my husband turns 50 years old!! That’s half a century!! I got to say the kids and I are so excited, hubby not so much so.
50 years is a milestone birthday, and as all milestone birthdays deserves to be celebrated, not once, but a few times. So we are going out tomorrow night for dinner and then we are having family and friends over on Saturday for a little party.
50 is the new 40, at least that’s what I keep telling him. Age is just a number after all!!

Is 50 too old for a career change??????????

My husband has been looking for a job since we got back from our amazing trip to Italy and boy are things so different out there in the job market these days.
After almost thirty years of experience working in the shipping industry he has decided that it is time for a change.
Hereby lies the challenge – what to do now?

There seems to be an endless supply of jobs out there but are any of them suitable for him – I just don’t know!!

So my question to you all is this – is 50 too old to be seeking a career change? I didn’t think so but as the days go by I’m beginning to have my doubts.

Fifty the ultimate F word

We celebrated my sister’s 50th Birthday on Saturday and it was such a great night!!
Everyone was just lovely and my sister was soo happy it was the perfect night!!
I really am blessed to have the world’s greatest sister.

My sister got a tattoo

My sister got a tattoo today!!!

That’s one more thing she can now cross off her bucket list!!

She has been planning on getting this tattoo for some time now and the fact that she is only days away from turning 50 has finally convinced her to go ahead with it!! Why not!! Life is short after all!!

Must say it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I was expecting and my sister was pleasantly surprised that the pain associated with getting her tattoo was bearable. She likened the experience to that of visiting the dentist lol

The tattoo artist was lovely he made my sister feel at ease, he made all of us feel at ease.

The whole experience can only be described as fun, as there was lots of laughing and now my sister has this beautiful tattoo of her gorgeous son’s name, which he in fact paid for as a birthday present to his mother.

11 Sleeps till Christmas

Only 11 more sleeps till Christmas!! This may not have been the best time for me to catch a cold, not with so much to do before Christmas Day!! I keep thinking that once my energy levels return I will be able to power through everything and have it all done in time for the big day. Optimistic much?? Yep I think so!!

I’m feeling a lot better so that is a start, and all my extra curriculum activities are finishing up this week which means more free time to bake and clean and wrap presents and prepare the deck and the house. Despite the cold I am really looking forward to Christmas this year and although it won’t be the same with out my nephew who is overseas visiting family, it will still be super awesome, it always is.

Best weekend ever!!!

Yesterday was mum and dad’s 50th Wedding Anniversary!! Many of you know that my brother, sister and I had a surprise celebration planned for them, what you didn’t know and what they didn’t know, was that our surprise was a night out on the Titanic!!

That’s the Titanic theatre restaurant not the actual Titanic that sunk in 1912. The Titanic theatre restaurant is a beautiful restaurant in Williamstown Melbourne done up as a replica of the Titanic ocean liner. A limousine picked us up at mum and dads place around 5:30pm, and after taking heaps of photos we set off for what was a great night.

Mum and dad were very happy, everything was perfect, the food, the atmosphere, the show, the limo ride there and back.

50 years of marriage is an awe inspiring milestone that needs to be celebrated that’s for sure.

Here’s to many more happy years mum and dad.
