This year has started off a lot more eventful than I was expecting. Doesn’t necessarily mean that’s a bad thing it just means it’s different, that’s all. There is something in the atmosphere that has me treading cautiously.
I was thinking about that today as my daughter reached another milestone in her life. Today was a day to be joyous, a day to celebrate, and yet I couldn’t help feeling a little sad – not sure if sad is the right word maybe apprehensive is a better fit.
Anyway my intention to wing it this year is still steadfast – what will be will be, time to stop worrying and start enjoying I think.
My daughter is off to camp tomorrow morning, so today we spent the day getting everything she needed packed and ready.
True to female form, despite having a cupboard full of clothes she just couldn’t find anything she was happy to take along with her. We made a mad dash to our nearest shopping mall and spent a few hours shopping and laughing and came back with a few things that she was happy with.
I’m so going to miss her and our girl time!! Our movie time!! Thank goodness it’s only two and half days!!
The boys will miss her too I’m sure, so will her dad and all the pets. The house is sure going to be really quiet.
I’ve taken the morning off so I can see her off, I’m just hoping that I will not embarrass her too much by getting too emotional. Hurry up Wednesday!!!
Is it too soon to be thinking about another holiday, I mean we have only just come back from Italy ?
It seems like everywhere I look or anyplace I go I keep coming across these amazing holiday deals!! Paris on sale for $1449, New Zealand, Tokyo, Vanuatu. Temptation is everywhere!!!
Once you have been bitten by the travel bug it’s hard to not think about travelling – time to start saving up again!
After almost three weeks abroad I’m back home and back to reality!
They say a holiday gives you a new lease on life and I can now attest to this. The time we spent away was everything I imagined it would be and more!!
Italy is a beautiful, busy extremely noisy country full of so much culture and history.
It really was a completely different place to be – nothing like Australia at all.
They drive like maniacs, they talk loudly with lots of hand gestures, they all look like they have stepped out of the pages of a fashion magazine and their food is just to die for!!
We were lucky enough to visit Rome, Florence, Pisa, Venice (including the little islands Murano, Burano and Torcello ), Levanto and Cinque Terra.
I’m sure I have enough memories to last a long long time, and enough stories for several blog posts, but for starters here is a selection of some of my favourite shots.
Well this is it!! The moment is finally here!! Italy here we come!!!
After months of planning, waiting and counting down, the moment has finally arrived!! Tomorrow we leave Melbourne bound for beautiful warm Rome!!
I will have so much to tell you all when I get back, so many photos and memories to share.
Stay safe see you all in a few weeks.
Uh oh!! There is a problem with our holiday!!! Well the Cinque Terra booking anyway!!
Our travel agent has been away on a holiday herself, and even though she was meant to come back last week and send us the finalised itinerary, she got sick and only came in this week.
For some unexplainable reason the Cinque Terra booking has not yet been confirmed despite us having paid for it in full almost three months ago!!
Some kind of glitch or something that is really starting to cause us stress. Well to be honest I’m not really feeling stressed I’m just excited, but I know my sister is stressing so is my brother.
Fingers crossed this will all be sorted by the end of the week – it better be, we are leaving on Sunday!!
Only 12 days to go now till our much awaited holiday in Italy!!! It’s so close we can almost taste it!! Today we started going through what clothes we will need to take with us and tomorrow I am picking up the suitcases from my mums.
There is still a few things we need to do, but the excitement is mounting and quite frankly, I can’t wait!!!!
