Busy couple of weeks

I haven’t blogged for a while, I’m not really sure why I have been doing a lot, so there is stuff to share. In fact only last Sunday I came back from a week away in beautiful Auckland NZ where my sister and I had so much fun exploring the North Island and climbing every summit we could find. The views were spectacular mind you.

Soccer season has started again and after the initial hiccups of ensuring everyone has registered and paid up etcc the season is underway. I would love to be able to report that the season has started with a couple of wins under the boys belts but alas it hasn’t. But it’s early days and there have been some great signs.

Boxing is better than ever and today I purchased my very first pair of beautiful pink leather boxing gloves!! No more cheap ill fitting gloves for me. These beauties will mould to my hand shape and help me improve my technique, or so I hope.

So even though I may not be posting as much, I am still enjoying reading everyone’s blogs and catching up on your news.

WordPress update a big fail

Ok I know I am probably the last person on earth to update WordPress only to find the the new so called improved update is just terrible!! I have ended up with three accounts all identical mind you, and for some unexplainable reason I can only see freshly pressed posts and not all the others that I love to read so much.

I’m hoping that it will soon be all rectified, but if anyone has any suggestions I would be happy to try anything. For the time being I am only able to read posts that I subscribe to via email 😞😳😞

Sweet Christmas Surprise

I received a Christmas card today from my dear fiend and fellow blogger, Elaine from foodbod. It was such a lovely surprise ,so unexpected and just so lovely and sweet just like Elaine herself.

I feel so privileged to have made such wonderful friends on WordPress, everyone has been so welcoming, so encouraging, it’s like we are all united in this little world of ours.

With Christmas only 8 sleeps away I want to take this moment to acknowledge all the things that I am so grateful for, my children, my family, my husband, my pets, my friends, my colleagues and every single person that I have had the honour of meeting on WordPress. Thank you all for making my life so wonderful, I truly am a very lucky woman to have you all in my life.

Friday night

IMG_2065.JPG

After a lovely dinner with the girls, it’s nice to come home to a quiet house, the kids fast asleep, hubby happy watching the cricket.

Time to snuggle up with my beautiful DT and catch up on what’s been happening in the blogosphere. Happy Friday every one.

So much to be thankful for

Today I am thankful for many things. I am happy that I have my beautiful
little car back and it looks better than ever, in fact it looks brand new again. (Unfortunately this shiny clean look won’t last long knowing my kids, but for today I am happy to have it back).

I am thankful that it is Friday which means the working week is over and it’s time to enjoy quality time with family and friends.

I’m thankful that the freak hail and storms seem to be behind us and the sunshine is back for the weekend.

I guess the only thing I am not thankful for is Telstra – our telephone and internet provider. We have been without a phone line and most importantly without internet access since Monday and it really is driving us a little batty, the kids are fighting more because they are bored and my iphone has already used over half it’s allocated monthly usage something that never ever happens.

Still I’m thankful that I have my iphone so I can still read all the blogs I enjoy so much.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

The blogosphere is our oyster

I have been thinking about my blog and reflecting on my posts, and it occurred to me that although I initially started this blog so that it could be a platform for my writing I haven’t been using it for that. It seems it’s more a venue for me to voice my thoughts of life, a sounding board if you will.

I follow many blogs, each one is unique and inspiring in its own way. Some of the blogs I follow have mass followers others only a few, but what each of these had shown me is that it doesn’t matter if your blog has a theme or a particular niche, that is not necessarily what people are after.

What I’ve come to realise is that the blogosphere is my oyster and I am free to make my blog whatever I need it to be at the time.

Maybe one day it may become the writers platform that I initially envisioned but for the moment I’m fine with it just being a vessel for all my thoughts and rants, all my hopes and missions.
