So much to be thankful for

Today I am thankful for many things. I am happy that I have my beautiful
little car back and it looks better than ever, in fact it looks brand new again. (Unfortunately this shiny clean look won’t last long knowing my kids, but for today I am happy to have it back).

I am thankful that it is Friday which means the working week is over and it’s time to enjoy quality time with family and friends.

I’m thankful that the freak hail and storms seem to be behind us and the sunshine is back for the weekend.

I guess the only thing I am not thankful for is Telstra – our telephone and internet provider. We have been without a phone line and most importantly without internet access since Monday and it really is driving us a little batty, the kids are fighting more because they are bored and my iphone has already used over half it’s allocated monthly usage something that never ever happens.

Still I’m thankful that I have my iphone so I can still read all the blogs I enjoy so much.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Today has been a good day!!

Today has been a good day, after yesterday it could only really get better!!

Yesterday morning on the way to work just after I had dropped off my twins and was heading to the high school, a lady ran into the back of my car when I was at a standstill at a Give way sign!!

Thankfully no one was injured but my son was very shaken as was I, because this was the first accident I had ever been in with one of my children in the car!!

My poor little car is off getting repaired now, it won’t be ready for a week and a half but for a minute there it was touch and go as to whether it would be a write off or not!

So today I am very happy that my car is being repaired and will soon be with me again. In the meantime I am driving my husbands car which feels a lot like driving a tank.

Another highlight of today was that I got to try boxing for the very first time!! I don’t think that I have ever sweat so much in my whole life! I’m sure that I will be very sore tomorrow but tonight I feel invigorated!!

Life is such a roller coaster you never know what is coming from one moment to the next.

Talk about ruining a good day.

Today was a good day right up to the very end and then I ruined it!!

I had a fun day at work, the best part was when I heard from my friend who has been dealing with loss and for the first time in a very long time she sounded more like her usual self, which was such a huge relief!

Then Harry had soccer training and that is always fun, and directly after that George had basketball training and I got to pop in a visit mum and dad for a bit, like I said all good. Finally make it home drive into the garage and suddenly remember that I didn’t drop off the stuff that mum sent for my sister. So as I go to drive back out of the garage I forget that I had pressed the remote so the door is coming down.

The garage door came down hard on the the roof of my car I panicked and drove back into the garage the whole top of my car is now scratched and the garage door dented.

Lucky for me I have a lovely husband who wasn’t too mad and loves me regardless.

Children and cars

What is it about cars that seem to bring out the worst in children?

You would think that by now I would know better but apparently I don’t. I stopped to pick up some breadcrumbs from the local IGA on the way home from school pick up, as I am making chicken schnitzels for dinner tonight. I was only gone a couple of minutes, but it would seem that is all that is needed for world war 3 to break out inside my little car.

I had one crying, one screaming and one sulking. Clearly they were all over tired and hungry. In future I will make sure I drop them off home first, it’s just not worth the heart ache.

The winding road

Driving on unfamiliar roads can be scary at the best of times, but when you add rain, and pitch blackness and speeds of up to 100 kilometres into the mix well then you are just in for a hell of a scary ride.

Funny how the drive up during the day never seems quite as bad. Is it age that makes night driving more harrowing? or could it be the idiots who are in such a rush to get to their destination that will tailgate so closely behind you, that you fear if you have to brake for some reason that they will smash right into your car?

I think things do get more scary the older one gets. You appreciate how much you have to lose now, where as when you were young you had no idea, no fear, and no worries. I much preferred it back then, I probably would have been one of those people in a hurry to get to where ever it is they are going.

Seriously though we are literally in the middle of nowhere, where are these people hurrying to get too? Have they never heard of the saying ‘ make time to smell the roses’ ?

Today the sun is shining again and the light of day makes everything appealing once more. It’s time to hit the road and see just where it will take us.
