Christmas shopping done!!

I confess I am a shopaholic!! I love to shopand I especially like to buy presents for people I love. Nothing makes me happier than watching someone unwrap a present I have brought them and seeing them all happy. But this time of year even I must admit I am a tad over shopping!! I’m over the crowds and the hustle and bustle all the spending and I’m especially over not finding the things I had in mind to buy.

With only 5 sleeps left till Christmas all I can say is I’m sure glad I’m finally finished all my Christmas shopping!!

19 Sleeps till Christmas

Now that the birthday celebrations are over its time to start preparing for Christmas!!

Step 1 put up the Xmas tree and decorate the house – Check

Step 2 plan the Xmas lunch menu -Check

Step 3 Xmas gift shopping – well I’ve started but still have a long way to go so no check there, but in my defence there are still 19 sleeps till Xmas so plenty of time left. Plus it just wouldn’t feel right If I was too organised, that’s just not me. 😜😜😜

Another Christmas over

Christmas is finally over what a relief!! Christmas Eve at mums was just lovely – I know I have probably already mentioned this before but I prefer Christmas Eve to Christmas Day and even though this year my gorgeous nephew was missing , we still had a wonderful night.

Christmas Day was wonderful too though, we got perfect weather and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The food was plentiful – in fact we had so much left over that I won’t need to cook for the rest of the week. The turducken I am happy to report was surprisingly nice and moist and even though I couldn’t really taste the duck, the turkey and chicken was nice so was the stuffing. My brother in law took photos of the Turducken he was really impressed with it. Christmas Day finally came to an end at 9:30pm. I was exhausted but very happy.

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas too.

Turducken!!!

We are on the home stretch now, only two sleeps till Christmas!! Dare I say it I am almost ready. The house is clean, the presents all wrapped, the food has been brought. All that remains is some final tweaking and of course the cooking, but I am lucky to have my mummy and my sister helping me with all of that. We are having the traditional roast pork and roast lamb and just for something different I am also going to be roasting a turducken, which for those of you that don’t know, is a chicken wrapped in duck wrapped in Turkey! What I want to know is who on earth comes up with this stuff? Hopefully it will taste nice, who knows it may even become part of the Christmas tradition.

Sweet Christmas Surprise

I received a Christmas card today from my dear fiend and fellow blogger, Elaine from foodbod. It was such a lovely surprise ,so unexpected and just so lovely and sweet just like Elaine herself.

I feel so privileged to have made such wonderful friends on WordPress, everyone has been so welcoming, so encouraging, it’s like we are all united in this little world of ours.

With Christmas only 8 sleeps away I want to take this moment to acknowledge all the things that I am so grateful for, my children, my family, my husband, my pets, my friends, my colleagues and every single person that I have had the honour of meeting on WordPress. Thank you all for making my life so wonderful, I truly am a very lucky woman to have you all in my life.

11 Sleeps till Christmas

Only 11 more sleeps till Christmas!! This may not have been the best time for me to catch a cold, not with so much to do before Christmas Day!! I keep thinking that once my energy levels return I will be able to power through everything and have it all done in time for the big day. Optimistic much?? Yep I think so!!

I’m feeling a lot better so that is a start, and all my extra curriculum activities are finishing up this week which means more free time to bake and clean and wrap presents and prepare the deck and the house. Despite the cold I am really looking forward to Christmas this year and although it won’t be the same with out my nephew who is overseas visiting family, it will still be super awesome, it always is.
