Italy

After almost three weeks abroad I’m back home and back to reality!
They say a holiday gives you a new lease on life and I can now attest to this. The time we spent away was everything I imagined it would be and more!!
Italy is a beautiful, busy extremely noisy country full of so much culture and history.
It really was a completely different place to be – nothing like Australia at all.

They drive like maniacs, they talk loudly with lots of hand gestures, they all look like they have stepped out of the pages of a fashion magazine and their food is just to die for!!

We were lucky enough to visit Rome, Florence, Pisa, Venice (including the little islands Murano, Burano and Torcello ), Levanto and Cinque Terra.

I’m sure I have enough memories to last a long long time, and enough stories for several blog posts, but for starters here is a selection of some of my favourite shots.

T- minus 5 days!!

Uh oh!! There is a problem with our holiday!!! Well the Cinque Terra booking anyway!!
Our travel agent has been away on a holiday herself, and even though she was meant to come back last week and send us the finalised itinerary, she got sick and only came in this week.

For some unexplainable reason the Cinque Terra booking has not yet been confirmed despite us having paid for it in full almost three months ago!!

Some kind of glitch or something that is really starting to cause us stress. Well to be honest I’m not really feeling stressed I’m just excited, but I know my sister is stressing so is my brother.

Fingers crossed this will all be sorted by the end of the week – it better be, we are leaving on Sunday!!

One step closer

Well I’m one step closer to going to Italy tonight, because today I lodged and paid for my passport. Yay!!

It was rather funny in a kind of sad way – when I showed the lady my birth certificate she gasped at how old it looked! I had to remind her that I am no spring chicken – mind you this young lady would have been all of what twenty two.
So now it’s just a matter of waiting out the two to three weeks that it takes for the passport to arrive. I can’t tell you how excited I am.
Italy here I come !!!
