Gym junkie

How do you know if you are gym junkie? I ask because today I found myself feeling really restless, like something was missing, like I had all this pent up energy that needed to be burnt. To be honest I did contemplate putting that energy to good use and cleaning the house, again. But let’s face it housework does not give you that same feeling of accomplishment that a good physical work out does.

It must be because I missed my boxing session on Tuesday because up until today I hadn’t really noticed anything like this before, sure over the Xmas break I did miss the boxing but it was a busy time of year and it was also pretty hot.

So I’m guessing now I must be a gym junkie, I pretty much work out 4 times a week these days, and do a variety of things like Zumba, yoga and ofcourse the boxing which is by far my favourite! What started out as a challenge, a way for me to push myself and keep healthy, has now become a way of life. I’m happy with that!

Boxing is back!!!

After a three week break, boxing recommenced today. It felt so good to be back at it again – well not at the time, at the time it is was very hard, almost torturous, lol – but once it’s over the endorphins kick in and you feel so good, so empowered that you can’t wait to do it all again. Zumba also starts up again tomorrow and this year we are going to try yoga as well – which I am really looking forward to. So looks like another year of fitness and fun.
I think the older I get the more important it is to stay fit and healthy. I want to enjoy my life to the max and by being active and keeping fit I am well on my way – just have to try and resist chocolate – now that’s a struggle lol

Boxing, welcome back.

Boxing started up again today for the year and I feel totally exhausted!! My face is still flushed!! I know that I will be so sore tomorrow but it felt so good to be back at it that I don’t care.

I will sleep well tonight that’s for sure, and tomorrow well that’s another day. “No pain, No gain” or something like that right ??

Boxing

I am loving my boxing class! Never in a million years would I have ever picked myself as someone who would enjoy boxing and yet here I am. Boxing makes me sweat more than anything else, more than Zumba (which I also love), more than jogging, more than the 30 day Facebook AB challenge. Boxing makes my shoulders and my legs feel stiff. The day after my first boxing session I could barely pull my jeans up. Yet despite all this the buzz, that feeling of exhilaration that I get after each session makes it all worthwhile.

I am lucky that the mixed session that I attend is filled with really nice people, everyone of them is lovely and helpful and just adds to the whole positive experience. If you are looking for a fun (please note I use the word fun loosely make no mistake boxing is extremely hard work) and liberating form of exercise than you must give boxing a try.
