Another Christmas over

Christmas is finally over what a relief!! Christmas Eve at mums was just lovely – I know I have probably already mentioned this before but I prefer Christmas Eve to Christmas Day and even though this year my gorgeous nephew was missing , we still had a wonderful night.

Christmas Day was wonderful too though, we got perfect weather and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The food was plentiful – in fact we had so much left over that I won’t need to cook for the rest of the week. The turducken I am happy to report was surprisingly nice and moist and even though I couldn’t really taste the duck, the turkey and chicken was nice so was the stuffing. My brother in law took photos of the Turducken he was really impressed with it. Christmas Day finally came to an end at 9:30pm. I was exhausted but very happy.

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas too.

Sweet Christmas Surprise

I received a Christmas card today from my dear fiend and fellow blogger, Elaine from foodbod. It was such a lovely surprise ,so unexpected and just so lovely and sweet just like Elaine herself.

I feel so privileged to have made such wonderful friends on WordPress, everyone has been so welcoming, so encouraging, it’s like we are all united in this little world of ours.

With Christmas only 8 sleeps away I want to take this moment to acknowledge all the things that I am so grateful for, my children, my family, my husband, my pets, my friends, my colleagues and every single person that I have had the honour of meeting on WordPress. Thank you all for making my life so wonderful, I truly am a very lucky woman to have you all in my life.

Best weekend ever!!!

Yesterday was mum and dad’s 50th Wedding Anniversary!! Many of you know that my brother, sister and I had a surprise celebration planned for them, what you didn’t know and what they didn’t know, was that our surprise was a night out on the Titanic!!

That’s the Titanic theatre restaurant not the actual Titanic that sunk in 1912. The Titanic theatre restaurant is a beautiful restaurant in Williamstown Melbourne done up as a replica of the Titanic ocean liner. A limousine picked us up at mum and dads place around 5:30pm, and after taking heaps of photos we set off for what was a great night.

Mum and dad were very happy, everything was perfect, the food, the atmosphere, the show, the limo ride there and back.

50 years of marriage is an awe inspiring milestone that needs to be celebrated that’s for sure.

Here’s to many more happy years mum and dad.

Friday night

IMG_2065.JPG

After a lovely dinner with the girls, it’s nice to come home to a quiet house, the kids fast asleep, hubby happy watching the cricket.

Time to snuggle up with my beautiful DT and catch up on what’s been happening in the blogosphere. Happy Friday every one.

In a perfect world

Oh the never ending saga of cleaning the house only to have it all messed up again in a short few hours!!!

In a perfect world you would only ever need to do housework once a week and the house would stay impeccably cleaned tidy for the full seven days.

In a perfect world the dishes would miraculously find their way into the dishwasher and not on the kitchen bench. In a perfect world the laundry basket would always be empty, dust would never gather and all the pets hair would stick to the pets and not the furniture. The kids rooms would be tidy and the beds always made.

Thank god we do not live in a perfect world, I may at times grizzle and complain that the housework is never ending but truth be told I wouldn’t have it any other way. Would you?

Holiday time

There is a distinct buzz of excitement in the air today, and that is because work is finished and school is over for another term, so that can only mean one thing, holidays!!! Yay

This time we are not wasting another opportunity, we are off on an adventure, a road trip to Bateman’s Bay in NSW!! Ten hours in the car with three children is not everyone’s cup of tea I know, and if I am to be totally honest I can’t say it is what I am most looking forward to. I am looking forward to having fun, exploring, relaxing, soaking up the sun. One glorious week of not having to cook or clean or do the laundry, sounds like bliss doesn’t it?

Because as my sister will often tell me I am a sharer I will be sure to post lots of photos and updates. There is still the weekend to get through though, lots of packing and preparing. Even Dexter is going on a holiday he is going to spend the week at my mums where he will be pampered and made such a fuss of that I fear he may not want to come home. Have a safe weekend everyone. 😊😊😊😊

Robbie Williams concert

I was lucky enough to attend the Robbie Williams concert tonight with my sister. My beautiful nephew brought us tickets for our birthday.

What can I say except Robbie Williams is the ultimate entertainer! The man is charm personified.

He had the audience enthralled right to the very end. Rod Laver arena was the perfect venue for a night like tonight, small and intimate.

My sister and I had the best night, sipping on Cosmopolitans and Margaritas and bopping away to Robbie’s sweet sweet voice. How lucky am I to have such an amazing and thoughtful nephew.

So much to be thankful for

Today I am thankful for many things. I am happy that I have my beautiful
little car back and it looks better than ever, in fact it looks brand new again. (Unfortunately this shiny clean look won’t last long knowing my kids, but for today I am happy to have it back).

I am thankful that it is Friday which means the working week is over and it’s time to enjoy quality time with family and friends.

I’m thankful that the freak hail and storms seem to be behind us and the sunshine is back for the weekend.

I guess the only thing I am not thankful for is Telstra – our telephone and internet provider. We have been without a phone line and most importantly without internet access since Monday and it really is driving us a little batty, the kids are fighting more because they are bored and my iphone has already used over half it’s allocated monthly usage something that never ever happens.

Still I’m thankful that I have my iphone so I can still read all the blogs I enjoy so much.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
