Robbie Williams concert

I was lucky enough to attend the Robbie Williams concert tonight with my sister. My beautiful nephew brought us tickets for our birthday.

What can I say except Robbie Williams is the ultimate entertainer! The man is charm personified.

He had the audience enthralled right to the very end. Rod Laver arena was the perfect venue for a night like tonight, small and intimate.

My sister and I had the best night, sipping on Cosmopolitans and Margaritas and bopping away to Robbie’s sweet sweet voice. How lucky am I to have such an amazing and thoughtful nephew.

I love my iPhone

20140518-175139.jpg

I love my iPhone 5! My whole life is pretty much stored on that 32GB phone. If I do not have my phone within easy reach I am not at ease. It’s like a part of me is missing. It’s like this phone has become an extension of myself.

My calendar, my notes, all my music, photos, passwords, reminders, videos, interviews, articles, emails are all on this handy hand held device that fits smugly into the palm of my hand.

I cant really remember when I first became so dependant on my phone, I think it must have just crept up on me but my attachment is such that I can no longer bare to be without it.

Don’t get me wrong I know that such dependance is not healthy or normal for that matter, but I do believe that it is the norm, especially with young people today who are forever surfing the net, chatting, texting, Facebook and twittering all at once.

My iPhone lets me post from anywhere. Any information I need is a mere click or two away. It’s my alarm clock in the morning, my personal assistant and my stress release.

When I think back to the time before I first got an iPhone, over 8 years ago and how much my life has changed now as a result of it, I just can’t imagine ever being without one. I can’t wait till the new iPhone 6 comes out, can’t wait to see what it will be able to do next. Rumours are that the new iPhone 6 will be launched in late 2014 and that this phone will be bigger, faster and smarter.

Play Me, I’m Yours

Today we went on a little treasure hunt in Melbourne’s beautiful, bustling CBD. The treasure we were looking for, were 24 vibrantly decorated pianos that have been positioned around Melbourne CBD (Central Business District ), and surrounds, for people to play and enjoy.

Play Me, I’m Yours, is an international street piano project presented by the Arts Centre Melbourne, as part of the Betty Amsden Participation Program.

We managed to find 9 out of the 24 pianos, which I believe are all the ones located in the City. We were treated to some truly beautiful melodies performed by everyday people walking by, who had stopped to have a turn at playing a tune on these cute and quirky pianos.

Every piano has been uniquely decorated by local community artists, and has been positioned strategically around the city in various spots were they can be easily accessed and enjoyed.

My personal favourite was the one pictured above, which my sister had lots of fun playing. She may not have been the most talent performer we heard today, but she looked like a star to me.

The pianos will remain on display until the 27th of January and will then be generously donated to local community centres.
