Father’s Day in Australia

It’s Father’s Day here in Australia and our day began with the usual early start for soccer. All the dads were out in full force cheering on their sons as Melbourne put on its most beautiful sunny Sunday weather.

After soccer which incidentally was a win, the kids presented hubby with his presents – which are always such a delight to receive. Madelyn got Stephen a watch because he is obsessed with the time (we have at least one clock in every room of the house and two on the deck ( only the toilet doesn’t have a clock). Harry got Stephen a key chain with a football stress ball, because his father likes football and as he explained can tend to have a short fuse. George opted for the sweeter option of a big mug for hot chocolate with a built in warmer.

We spent the day with both fathers, mine and my husbands . Enjoying quality family time and lots and lots of yummy food.

I know that it isn’t Father’s Day in all other parts of the world, but I hope that if you are a dad, or if you have a wonderful dad like I do that you get to enjoy some special times this weekend.

Today has been a good day!!

Today has been a good day, after yesterday it could only really get better!!

Yesterday morning on the way to work just after I had dropped off my twins and was heading to the high school, a lady ran into the back of my car when I was at a standstill at a Give way sign!!

Thankfully no one was injured but my son was very shaken as was I, because this was the first accident I had ever been in with one of my children in the car!!

My poor little car is off getting repaired now, it won’t be ready for a week and a half but for a minute there it was touch and go as to whether it would be a write off or not!

So today I am very happy that my car is being repaired and will soon be with me again. In the meantime I am driving my husbands car which feels a lot like driving a tank.

Another highlight of today was that I got to try boxing for the very first time!! I don’t think that I have ever sweat so much in my whole life! I’m sure that I will be very sore tomorrow but tonight I feel invigorated!!

Life is such a roller coaster you never know what is coming from one moment to the next.

Girl bonding

Today I spent the day with two of my most favourite people in this whole wide world my mummy and my big sister. We hit the shops for some retail therapy. It’s what I call girl bonding at its best.

I couldn’t think of a nicer way to spend a quiet Sunday, the last day of what has felt like a very long winter. Tomorrow Spring, my most favourite season will be here, bringing with it l hope, lots of sunshine, beautiful flowers, fun and happiness.

I hope that everyone in the blogosphere has had a lovely weekend.

The simple things

Life is all about the small moments, the simple things that make all the not so good moments more bearable.

Tonight I am savouring these small moments, a great Zumba class, the kids in bed, a favourite television series, a delicious connoisseurs ice cream with macadamia nuts and king lake honey mmmmmm life doesn’t get better than this does it?

Another lovely Sunday

Another lovely Sunday filled with soccer and kids and family. If it wasn’t for the freezing cold temperature I would say it was a perfect Sunday. Still the sun was shinning and the ducted heating was cranked up to max and my husband pulled off another super delicious roast pork which is his specialty.

I hope everyone else had a lovely Sunday too filled with good times, family and friends.

Talk about ruining a good day.

Today was a good day right up to the very end and then I ruined it!!

I had a fun day at work, the best part was when I heard from my friend who has been dealing with loss and for the first time in a very long time she sounded more like her usual self, which was such a huge relief!

Then Harry had soccer training and that is always fun, and directly after that George had basketball training and I got to pop in a visit mum and dad for a bit, like I said all good. Finally make it home drive into the garage and suddenly remember that I didn’t drop off the stuff that mum sent for my sister. So as I go to drive back out of the garage I forget that I had pressed the remote so the door is coming down.

The garage door came down hard on the the roof of my car I panicked and drove back into the garage the whole top of my car is now scratched and the garage door dented.

Lucky for me I have a lovely husband who wasn’t too mad and loves me regardless.
